Landlords, Holiday Home or Unoccupied Insurance Through OCASO Insurance

We are here to help and have monthly direct debit options available to assist you and your family; please contact us to find a solution which works for you.

For the time being, to make life easier for you, we do not need to be notified where the tenant is carrying out clerical work from home, for example using a phone, computer or laptop due to the current Government guidelines. If the tenant is carrying out any other form of work or has employees or visitors to the home please contact us to discuss this.

Once things are back to normal we would consider this a material change and we would, therefore, need to be notified as usual.

Tenant’s contents including business equipment is not covered and cannot be added to the policy.

No, this is not covered by the policy.

It is acceptable that a member of family, carer or someone who is being cared for is staying as a result of COVID-19. If they continue to stay with the tenant after self-isolation / stay at home finishes, then the policy will need to be updated.

No, this is not covered by the policy. Loss of rent is only payable should the property become uninhabitable due to loss or damage by an insured peril. Please refer to the relevant section of the policy wording for further information.

Whilst we would expect you to adhere to the terms and conditions of the policy we understand that this may not always be possible given the current situation with COVID-19. Until such time that the Government restrictions on staying indoors are lifted, the current level of cover will continue. Once the current Government restrictions are lifted, the normal terms of and conditions of the policy will apply.

Under your landlord policy, where your property becomes temporarily unoccupied you will not need to advise us of the temporary unoccupied status of the property, and the existing level of cover will continue for a period of 90 consecutive days from the date the property became unoccupied.

We will temporarily remove the need to regular inspections.  Once the current Government restrictions are lifted, the normal terms of and conditions of the policy will apply and you should inspect the property in line with the policy conditions.
